IBADAN, NIGERIA — PRALARG International (Prisons Rehabilitation and Law Abiding Organization International), in partnership with Ability Without Limits Foundation, has announced plans to host a major disability inclusion and empowerment outreach aimed at promoting the rights, wellbeing, and social inclusion of persons living with disabilities in Oyo State.
The initiative, themed “Ability Beyond Disability: Empowerment, Rights and Inclusion,” is scheduled to take place on July 17, 2026, at Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan and is expected to bring together disabled athletes, disability advocates, community leaders, human rights activists, volunteers, and members of the public.
According to the organizers, the program forms part of ongoing efforts to promote dignity, equal opportunities, mental wellness, and legal awareness among persons living with disabilities while challenging societal stereotypes and discrimination.
PRALARG International stated that the outreach aligns with its broader mission of advancing human rights, lawful living, community development, rehabilitation, and social justice.
The event will feature a range of activities including recreational games, social interaction sessions, legal enlightenment, motivational talks, emotional wellness discussions, and community engagement programs designed to encourage participants and strengthen public awareness on disability inclusion.
A key component of the outreach will be a series of inspirational presentations from invited speakers who have distinguished themselves through resilience, advocacy, and personal achievement.
Among the guest speakers is Olurode Alaba, who will deliver a presentation titled “From Limitation to Legacy: How Disability Became My Strength.” Organizers say the session will focus on overcoming adversity and transforming personal challenges into opportunities for growth and success.
Another invited speaker, Suliaman Olanike, will address participants on “Not a Liability: Turning Disability into Ability,” a presentation expected to challenge misconceptions about disability and encourage self-confidence and personal development among attendees.
Also scheduled to speak is Isaac Kehinde Orepo, whose presentation, “Equal Access, Equal Value: The Rights and Potential of Persons with Disabilities,” will examine issues of accessibility, inclusion, equal opportunity, and the protection of disability rights within society.
PRALARG International noted that legal education will form a significant part of the outreach, with participants expected to receive information on fundamental human rights, protections against discrimination, access to justice, and the rights of persons living with disabilities under Nigerian and international law.
The organization further emphasized the importance of emotional wellbeing, stating that special sessions on anger management, emotional resilience, positive communication, and mental wellness would be conducted by professionals and counselors.
The organizers have also extended invitations to disability-focused organizations, including Treasure Down Syndrome and Persons with Special Needs Foundation and BAM-DELL Disabilities and Orphanage Home, alongside government agencies, non-governmental organizations, corporate bodies, religious institutions, and media organizations.
Speaking on the significance of the initiative, PRALARG International said disability should never be viewed as a limitation to human potential.
“Every individual deserves dignity, respect, inclusion, protection, and equal opportunity regardless of physical condition. Strength is not measured by physical perfection but by courage, resilience, determination, and hope,” the organization said.
The outreach is expected to boost confidence among participants, reduce social isolation, promote awareness of disability rights, encourage peaceful coexistence, and strengthen advocacy efforts for greater inclusion of persons living with disabilities across Oyo State and beyond.
The event will be covered by Step Rights Magazine and Pralarg International Radio, the official media partners, as part of ongoing efforts to spotlight human rights issues, social justice initiatives, and community development programs across Nigeria.
