Sunday Igboho Announces Federal Approval of Iru Ekun Security Network

In a video, Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has announced that the Iru Ekun Security Network has officially received registration and approval under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on the development, Igboho described the move as a major step toward strengthening regional security and combating criminal activities across Yorubaland. He called on Yoruba communities both at home and in the diaspora to support the initiative in its mission to flush out criminals allegedly hiding in forests within the region.

According to him, the growing security concerns and recent attacks in parts of the Southwest are politically motivated due to the emergence of a Yoruba president.

“They are doing this because a Yoruba man is now the president,” Igboho stated during the announcement.

He further stressed that the Iru Ekun Security Network is a legal and operational security outfit committed to protecting lives, communities, and properties through collective community-based action.

The announcement has since sparked widespread reactions online, with supporters praising the initiative as a proactive response to insecurity, while others continue to debate the role of regional security outfits in Nigeria’s national security framework.
