Public Enlightenment Initiative Targets Crime Prevention and Moral Education Among Students
The Moniya Unit of Pralarg International in Ibadan, Oyo State, has commenced a community outreach and public enlightenment campaign aimed at sensitizing pupils and students in primary and secondary schools on lawful living, crime prevention, and civic responsibility.
The outreach exercise, led by Comrade Pralagian Adeshina Elizabeth, forms part of the organization’s broader Pralarg International Outreach Project, a public education initiative established to promote legal awareness, moral values, peaceful coexistence, and crime prevention within communities.
According to the organization, the project was designed to address rising social challenges caused by ignorance of the law, poor guidance, peer pressure, and inadequate public enlightenment, particularly among young people.
During the sensitisation exercise, volunteers educated pupils and students on the importance of discipline, responsible behaviour, respect for the law, and the dangers of engaging in criminal or antisocial activities. The initiative also focused on teaching students about human rights, civic duties, and the consequences of unlawful conduct.
Speaking during the outreach, the organization reiterated its belief that prevention remains one of the most effective tools in reducing crime and lowering incarceration rates across society.
The outreach project is one of the flagship educational programs of Pralarg International, a non-governmental organization committed to human rights advocacy, legal awareness, prison rehabilitation, and community empowerment.
Mission of the Outreach Project
The organization stated that the mission of the project is to educate, enlighten, and empower communities through legal awareness, crime prevention education, and public advocacy aimed at reducing crime, recidivism, and unnecessary incarceration.
As part of the initiative, Pralarg International volunteers and educators visit schools, religious centers, and communities to organize awareness programs, leadership training, and public enlightenment seminars. The organization also uses radio, television, and social media platforms to expand public education on legal and social issues.
The project promotes moral values, civic responsibility, peaceful coexistence, and lawful living while also educating citizens about common criminal offenses and their legal consequences.

Pralarg International noted that many individuals unknowingly become involved in unlawful activities due to misinformation, negative influences, or lack of proper legal enlightenment.

Expansion Plans and Fundraising Goal
Pralarg International disclosed that it is seeking to raise $1,000,000 to expand the outreach initiative across Nigeria and beyond.
According to the organization, the funds will support nationwide awareness campaigns, educational media programs, production of crime prevention materials, volunteer training, and expanded legal awareness programs.
The organization added that donations will help organize school and community outreach programs, support television and radio awareness campaigns, distribute educational materials, and strengthen civic education initiatives aimed at creating safer and more informed communities.
