Questions Emerge Over APC Aspirant Mahmoud Sadis Buba’s Age After Alleged Documents Surface Online

Fresh controversy has emerged around Kaduna-based political figure Mahmoud Sadis Buba, popularly known as “Abin Aljabin Zazzau,” after documents circulating online allegedly indicated that he was born on August 27, 2010.

The development comes days after Buba announced his withdrawal from the 2027 House of Representatives race under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Images of what appeared to be a Nigerian passport and National Identification Number (NIN) slip surfaced online, both allegedly bearing the name Mahmud Buba Sadisu and listing a date of birth of August 27, 2010.

If authentic, the documents would suggest that Buba is about 15 years old, far below the constitutional age requirement to vote, obtain a Permanent Voter Card (PVC), or contest for elective office in Nigeria.

The controversy has intensified public debate surrounding the young politician, whose appearance and age had already sparked widespread reactions following his APC screening video in Zaria.

Social media users questioned how an individual allegedly below voting age progressed through political screening processes without concerns being raised earlier.

In previous interviews, Buba maintained that he was qualified to contest and insisted that criticism of his physical appearance should not define his political ambition.

“The way I look does not bother me. God created me this way,” he had said during an earlier media interview.

As of the time of reporting, there has been no official confirmation from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the APC, or relevant Nigerian authorities regarding the authenticity of the circulating documents.

Family members and political associates of Buba have also not publicly responded to the allegations.

Legal Angle:
Under Nigeria’s Constitution and electoral laws, individuals must meet specific age requirements before contesting for public office or participating fully in the electoral process. Questions over age documentation and eligibility could potentially attract scrutiny from electoral authorities if formally investigated.

Conclusion:
The latest revelations have added another layer to the growing public attention surrounding Mahmoud Sadis Buba’s political journey, with many Nigerians now calling for clarity and verification of the documents circulating online.
