Introduction of members of the team

Otemolu [Com Olori] on introduction of members of the PRALARG INT’L visiting team after which the State Coordinator read his address.

The State Coordinator’s address centered on recognition as a body in the capacity of Human Rights Advocate and partner in progress and the question. Sir, can we know to what extent is your office sagacity, dexterity and diligence in discharging your assigned duties? This agitating question is as a result of abuse of fundamental Human Rights on one side and safety of citizenry on the other side.

A critical example is those selling and buying on the government set back on the road vis a vis market place, when at a time these market men and women seem to be in a very relaxed mood in displaying and selling their goods or wares and at the other time they also seem to be in conflict with government as the Task Force personnel could be seen weighing war against them thereby making life unbearable to them in which a time their goods or wares were confiscated, tables, hangers seats destroyed and in addition those arrested were made to smell the wrath of the law.

A troublesome question from this is why Hosanna today and crucifixion tomorrow why not call a spade a spade and let the environmental sanitation prevail as duty bound?

Another question in the series is why the zero tolerance on motorists be it commercial or private on the roads even when an unplanned event occurred like a flat tire, engine problem and other associated problems with the motor vehicle, that instead of the Task Force personnel to see the distressing situation on the part of the motorist as a pity one they see it as “OBE SOO” in Yoruba’s palace terminology?

Yes, Sir, we all know that some motor vehicle owners deserve no sympathy at all because they fail to carry out the necessary maintenance and routine checks on their vehicles but all the same, Sir, we still expect the Task Force personnel to always temper mercy with justice in the execution of their legitimate assigned duties.

Thank you, Sir.

The Chairman in his response charged PRALARG INT’L to be more proactive in the public enlightenment and education on criminal code, citizen right and real rehabilitation of inmates, and show casing success stories with testimonies with promise to always align with PRALARG INT’L https://pralarg.org/ aims and objectives.

That in answering to the questions particularly on motorists, that PRALARG INT’L

that PRALARG INT’L

needs to embark on strengthening advocacy on civil engagement project in line with

creating awareness on “know the law and know your right” campaign.

needs to embark on strengthening advocacy on civil engagement project in line with creating awareness on “know the law and know your right” campaign. Because every Lagosian is always on the move that doesn’t want to be disturbed in any way thereby resulting into cutting corners with the Law enforcement agents otherwise anybody arrested should create time to follow his/her matter to the logical conclusion on his/her own with or without the service of legal professional. That on many occasions some offenders were either set free or be made to pay just a token.

He once again, wants the PRALARG INT’L to intensify its effort in the public enlightenment and other means of advertisement.
